Who else thinks that November tops the list of the best months of the year? Christmas is just far enough away that ‘stressmas’ hasn’t kicked in yet, but it is also close enough that the days are starting to fill with the magic of impending festivities. All this, plus we still have the embers of autumn and it’s crisp, colourful backdrop added to the mix. Much of the beauty of this time of year is outdoors, which is just as well...because braving the elements comes with the motherhood territory. Rain or shine, it’s out we go in pursuit of that all-important open space and fresh air.

Wrapping up warm on a cold, blustery day is not just a necessity, but often a luxury. When staying indoors isn’t an option, chunky knits and fleecy layers are as close to cosying up as we can get!! For kids, wrapping up warm allows them the freedom to enjoy the great outdoors and the wonderful sensory experience of frosty mornings and snowy days... plus everything wet, leafy and muddy in between. For wardrobe staples that look as well as play the part, you can’t beat the range of organic children’s basics by Jannet Samanta Dobson.
