Susan Mann is a top 10 UK Parent & Mummy Blogger writing at www.susankmann.com

What first inspired you to start blogging? Describe your career/lifestyle beforehand?
I started my blog on the 21st January 2010. My friend on twitter and I toyed with the idea of starting a blog and supported each other, we both started around the same time.  I wanted to blog about the different aspects of my life. I was just back from maternity leave to full-time work and struggling a bit. I had two kids one just turned 1 and one just turned 3.

What is the premis behind your blog and how does it differ from other popular parenting blogs/vlogs?
I am just me in my writing style, I just write about our lives. I have a wide range of children and have blogged for most of their lives. I differ in that I am Scottish and don't blog full time. I think every blog is different in its own way. It's about making your space your own.  I have been trying to include more personal posts and ones I feel will help others. I want other parents to feel that they aren’t alone with the lows of parenting as well and the many highs.

What is your current following?
I have a wide range of followers from parents, grandparents, mothers to be, writers and many more wonderful people. I love it when they comment or come and chat on social media.

How do you work running the blog alongside motherhood and your other commitments?
I blog in the evenings once my children have gone to bed. I blog where the moment takes in the living room or before I go to sleep. I get my inspiration from everything. Mainly my children.

What do you enjoy most about what you do? Are there any perks/downsides?
I work with PR’s on reviews, blog posts, talking about brands or items, google+ hangouts and sometimes face to face meeting. Living just outside Glasgow it makes it difficult to get to London often. The internet world makes it easier to keep in touch.

What would be your one piece of advice to any budding mum bloggers?
I would tell them to go for it. Write a few posts to begin with and plan what you’d like to write about. Go with something you are passionate about and have lots to say on the matter. But, you don’t have to stick with the one subject. I blog about all aspects of my life, I have yet to run out of things to talk about. It takes time to build up a blog, look at other blogs on the subject you’ve chosen, pick a theme and go for it. You will make some wonderful friends along the way I know I have. Always be yourself, blog for yourself and don’t try to be anyone else, you are the best you.
